Welcome to the St. Laurence Catholic School Library staffed by Ms. Teri-Lynn James and Mrs. Beth Puyau. The library is open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Parents are welcome to check out books from our "parent library" at any time.
Elementary School students (K - 4th grade) are scheduled to visit the library weekly for a short library skills lesson and checkout. All grades except Kinder are allowed to check out two books per week.
Middle School students (5th - 8th grade) are scheduled to visit the library every two weeks unless there is a schedule change. Students can renew their books as needed but are responsible for fines if the book has exceeded the five day grace period. See Handbook for further fine information.
The Library welcomes students on passes to do research or check out new books at teacher's discretion.
The Texas Bluebonnet Program is a state reading program for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. In January the students will vote on their favorite books. Five titles from the list are read to the students by January voting time. Students who have read 5 titles on the state list and have written a short summary are invited to an ice cream celebration party in the library at the end of the year. Students are permitted to substitute 3 titles on the Bluebonnet list for books they would prefer.
We are always seeking volunteers to help in the library, please contact Ms. James at firstname.lastname@example.org.
