At St. Laurence, a great deal of emphasis is placed on using technology to assist student learning. Classrooms are equipped with at least four computers and a computer-linked TV monitor. Each classroom has access to interactive learning using Smart Board technology. Additionally, the library/media center and two fully equipped computer labs are available for large group instruction and research. Two computer literacy teachers instruct children in various applications, computer skills, and Internet ethics. St. Laurence students in seventh and eighth grades have the opportunity to be an integral part of the production of the school yearbook, where they take and edit photos, and work on placement alongside our publishing company. An integration specialist also assists teachers in integrating technology with instruction across the curriculum. Teachers maintain their own web pages and web links for communication with school families. By graduation, students are equipped with the life-long skill of word processing and are able to create presentations, spreadsheets, and multimedia applications using many different programs.
