This page provides information in support of the SLCS mission to foster the development of the whole Christian person, instill Catholic values, and reflect the life of the Trinity in our
programs and practices.
Religion is embedded throughout the curriculum with a focus on the basic principles of the Catholic faith, church teachings, and its formal traditions and practices. Both students and teachers model these values in word and action. At all grade levels, children learn to be moral Christians and to serve others.
Throughout the year, students are involved in many religious observances such as daily prayer, the Living Rosary, the Stations of the Cross, Christmas programs, May Crowning, and all school Masses; students in first through eighth grade also help to plan an all-school Mass. St. Laurence Parish assumes the responsibility for sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist during the second grade year. Second grade teachers work with the parish to prepare their students.
