Student Council officers and classroom representatives (4th -8th) are expected to exhibit a high standard of responsibility and leadership. The Student Council works with the SLCS administration to bring the students' concerns and ideas to the administration's attention.
The SLCS Student Council is led by an Executive Council made up of the following officers:
The Executive Council is made up of a President (8th grade), 1st Vice President (7th grade), and 2nd Vice President (6th grade); the secretary, treasurer, and publicity chairperson can be a 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student. The officers are elected in the spring, so they will be in place to begin the school year.
The student body is represented by grade-level representatives who bring the concerns of their classmates to the Student Council. Each grade level elects four representatives to serve on the Student Council for the school year in August, shortly after classes begin.
The Student Council participates in service projects and school and community events. The members also propose new ideas to help strengthen the St. Laurence Community.
