Tuition Assistance

The purpose of both Tuition Assistance Programs is to help reduce the cost of tuition and provide a quality Catholic education for families who desire it for their children.  Through fundraising and generous donations, SLCS is blessed to offer these opportunities for assistance to SLCS families with a financial need.

The Saints Endowment for Tuition Assistance Fund is provided on an annual basis and is awarded to families who meet the financial requirements for assistance.

The St. Laurence Catholic School Emergency Fund is provided on a temporary basis (a maximum of 3 years) to families who encounter a sudden and life-changing event.

Eligibility for Assistance from the Saints Endowment for Tuition Assistance Fund:
Assistance from the Endowment Fund may be awarded to families who are new to SLCS or who are currently enrolled.  Families seeking assistance from the Endowment Fund must complete the Archdiocesan Application through FACTS and complete the SLCS New Student Application.  Tuition Assistance decisions are made separately from and independently of admission decisions by the Financial Assistance Committee (“Committee”) of the Advisory School Council.  The admission decision is made in advance of the financial aid review and the Committee has no involvement with a student’s acceptance at SLCS.

Saints Endowment awards are made for one year and may be renewed each year.  Families must submit an application each year that assistance is requested and the Committee may reduce awards from year to year or deny subsequent assistance requests if the family’s financial condition improves.  An award from the Saints Endowment will not exceed 49% of SLCS tuition.  Except in situations determined by the Committee’s discretion, only one award will be given to an applicant family.  Awards are made in the form of a credit to the family’s tuition balance after applying all applicable discounts.

Eligibility for Assistance from the St. Laurence Catholic School Emergency Fund:
Assistance from the SLCS Emergency fund may be awarded to a currently-enrolled family with student(s) who have attended SLCS for at least one year.  Families with Pre-K students are not eligible for awards from the SLCS Emergency Fund, unless a currently-enrolled family has another child/children attending SLCS in grades K-8.

Additionally, families seeking assistance from the SLCS Emergency Fund may apply at any time the emergency situation arises.  Applicant families must complete the Archdiocesan Application through FACTS each year an emergency award is sought and document the temporary and emergency nature of the financial hardship.  Emergency Assistance Awards will be determined by the Financial Assistance Committee of the Advisory School Council.

Emergency Assistance Awards will not exceed 49% of SLCS tuition.  Families receiving Emergency Assistance Awards may apply and obtain assistance for not more than 3 consecutive years.  Emergency Assistance Awards are made in the form of a credit to the family’s tuition balance after applying all applicable discounts.
