ARE YOU INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

We love volunteers! If you would like to volunteer at SLCS, please make sure that you are Safe Environment (formerly Virtus) trained and approved.  

The new Safe Environment online training program, administered through CMG, has replaced the VIRTUS training. The new training consists of three vignette-style training videos that are approximately 60 minutes long. These trainings are available in English and Spanish.

Once everything has been submitted, the turnaround time for approval has been significantly reduced to approximately one week. All individuals must complete the training and be approved before starting employment and/or volunteer service.

The five-year anniversary date is still in place.  Anyone who recently attended VIRTUS will not be required to complete a refresher class until their five-year anniversary. As the five-year anniversary date approaches, you will need to log into your CMG account at cmgconnect.org with your previous VIRTUS username and 1234 as the password.  If you do not remember your username, you may contact CMG at [email protected] for assistance.

To take the Refresher Class:

• Once you have logged into your CMG account, you will be able to start the online training class assigned
• Take the CMG online training class Safe Haven-Archdiocesan and complete the background check questions.  

Steps to become a Saints Volunteer-Approved Parent for the first time:

• Go to the website www.cmgconnect.org, choose the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and continue registering for an account. Be sure to choose “Private Catholic School Employee/Volunteer.”
• ​​​​​​​Take the CMG online training class Safe Haven-Archdiocesan and complete the background check questions.
